Studying at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences
One of the leading and highly reputable public universities in the field of medical sciences in Iran is Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, located in the city of Tabriz. The university was established in 1945 (1324 in the Iranian calendar), during the period of the National Government of Azerbaijan, near the end of World War II. Its initial location was in the Teacher Training College for Boys, situated in Daneshsara Square, and the first president of the university was Mr. Jahanshahloo.
At present, Tabriz University of Medical Sciences has 9,825 students, 926 faculty members, 214 academic programs, 33 educational units, and 391 international students. In addition, the university includes 32 research centers, publishes 14 scientific journals, and has produced 22,921 research papers and 15,602 research projects.

According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025, Tabriz University of Medical Sciences is ranked within the 601–800 range globally.

Facilities
One of the notable features of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences is the largest female dormitory in Iran, named Talash Dormitory. This dormitory is built on an area of 42,000 square meters and has a capacity of 2,500 students. The university also provides well-equipped male dormitories.
The sports facilities at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences are diverse and excellent, including: football fields, volleyball halls, basketball halls, table tennis, swimming pools, walking areas, wrestling halls, tennis courts, and more. Other welfare facilities include study halls, dining halls, student dormitories, libraries, and additional amenities for student life.
