Introduction
Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences (AJUMS) is a medical university located in the city of Ahvaz, Khuzestan Province, Iran. The institution was originally founded in 1949 as the School of Medicine and, in 1987, became an independent medical university after separating from the Ministry of Science.
Today, the university includes nine active faculties and nine teaching and healthcare hospitals. It hosts over 6,500 students and 716 faculty members. So far, more than 48,790 domestic scientific articles and 8,050 ISI-indexed papers have been published by the university in national and international journals and conferences.

In the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2022, Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences was ranked within the 601–800 band among the world’s top universities.
