Studying at Shahrekord University
The initial step toward establishing Shahrekord University was taken in June 1977 (Khordad 1356) with the founding of the Shahrekord Faculty of Animal Husbandry, which operated in a rented building located at Daneshgah Square. In 1983 (1362), this faculty was transformed into the Agricultural College and continued its activities as a subsidiary of Isfahan University of Technology. In 1988 (1367), the college was elevated to the status of a Higher Education Complex, and later that same year, the Shahrekord Higher Education Complex officially became “Shahrekord University.” Currently, the university has over 147,000 square meters of educational, auxiliary, and welfare facilities, with an additional 40,000 square meters under construction. Shahrekord University boasts 330 faculty members, more than 300 staff, over 7,000 students, and offers 49 undergraduate programs, 79 master’s programs, 36 PhD programs, and 1 professional doctorate program. Since 2017 (1396), the university has begun admitting international students in the fields of Literature, Humanities, and Law.
Ranking
In 2017, Shahrekord University was listed for the first time among the top 1% of universities worldwide and was also recognized as one of the most influential engineering universities globally. It ranked 18th among comprehensive universities in the country for producing the highest number of top 1% ISI papers. Additionally, in the latest 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/shahrekord-university), Shahrekord University achieved a ranking between 601 and 800 in Engineering and Physical Sciences.
