Amirkabir University of Technology in Tehran — also known as Tehran Polytechnic — is one of the top universities in Iran in terms of education and research.
Overview
The foundation of Tehran Polytechnic dates back to 1956 (1335 in the Iranian calendar), when it was established with the goal of expanding the activities of two existing technical institutions at the time: the “Institute of Technology” and the “Advanced School of Arts.”
Official academic operations began in 1958 (1337), starting with five engineering majors:
