Introduction
Imam Khomeini International University began its activities in 1991 following the approval of its establishment law by the Iranian Parliament. Since then, it has welcomed distinguished guests from over 100 countries around the world and takes pride in hosting a culturally diverse community that spans the globe. The university currently offers more than 30 undergraduate programs, over 70 master’s programs, and 30 doctoral programs across 33 academic departments. Since 2006, it has shown a 60% growth in the establishment and development of new academic programs.

The Persian Language Teaching Center, with several decades of distinguished experience, is recognized as the most reputable official academic institution in the country for promoting Iranian-Islamic culture and expanding Persian language education to non-Persian speakers. To date, it has welcomed over 10,000 language learners from more than 110 countries. The center’s directors and faculty members strive not only to teach the rich and beautiful Persian language but also to introduce Islamic values, Iranian culture, and literature to international students and language learners. The goal is that, upon graduation and returning to their home countries, these students will serve as cultural ambassadors, accurately reflecting the true image of Islamic Iran and its culturally rich people, and helping to present a truthful portrayal of Iran to the world. In addition to its skilled faculty, the center is equipped with specialized educational facilities, including smart classrooms, a content production studio, a language laboratory, an Iranology room, and a specialized library for Persian language education.

In line with its international mission and commitment to global standards, the university maintains active relationships with numerous international organizations and institutions in the field of higher education. These include membership in the World University Union, the Union of Islamic World Universities, the Silk Road Universities Network, the Virtual Universities Network of the Islamic World, the Caspian Sea Universities Union, and active participation in the European Union’s research programs. Furthermore, the university has signed cooperation agreements with 40 universities and higher education institutions across more than 20 countries. These agreements cover academic collaboration, faculty and student exchanges, and international scientific partnerships. Based on these agreements, the university has jointly published articles, books, and research projects, and has organized international conferences and festivals, all aimed at advancing scientific diplomacy.

According to the 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/imam-khomeini-international-university), Imam Khomeini International University achieved a ranking between 501-600 in Engineering Sciences and between 601-800 in Natural Sciences.

Welfare Facilities
Imam Khomeini International University offers comprehensive welfare facilities, including 11 dormitories for male and female students. The central library spans 4,062 square meters and houses over ten thousand volumes in Persian, Arabic, and Latin languages. The university also features a central laboratory and a science and technology park.

• To support students’ mental health, the university’s counseling center provides professional advisory services. For nutrition, there is a student cafeteria and several active snack bars across the campus.
• Sports facilities include multipurpose sports halls, as well as fields and courts for football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and a gym.
• To enhance student convenience, the university provides on-campus transportation for easy access to faculties and dormitories. Additionally, it offers various student loans, including tuition loans, housing loans, and emergency loans.
