Urmia University is one of the most reputable public universities in Iran, operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology. It is located in West Azerbaijan Province, in the western part of the city of Urmia, and was established in 1965. Urmia University is recognized as one of the top seven research-oriented universities in Iran.

Tuition Discounts
Below you can learn about four ways to get a tuition discount at Urmia University as an international student:
1- 25 to 50 percent semester tuition discount will be applied to the tuition fees of international students who have cooperated with their professor as a teaching or research assistant (for the first two semesters) based on the level and number of students per group.
2- A 30 percent semester tuition discount will be applied to the tuition fees of Master’s international students who get a minimum GPA of 17 for disciplines other than humanities and 18 for humanities disciplines. (This discount is available for only one student in each entrance year of the program)
3- A 20 percent semester tuition discount will be applied to the tuition fees of the first semester of Master’s international students who pursue a doctorate program at Urmia University.
4- A 20 percent semester tuition discount will be applied to the tuition fees of the first semester of international students with a family member (brother, sister, child, parent, and spouse) at Urmia University.
Welfare Facilities
Urmia University provides a variety of welfare services for its students. These include 18 dormitories for male students and 12 dormitories for female students. The dormitories are equipped with facilities such as:
