Introduction
The University of Tabriz is one of the oldest universities in Iran, established in 1947. It is a public university operating under the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology. The University of Tabriz is considered the second-largest and one of the most prestigious universities in Iran, attracting many students each year. In terms of size, it is the largest university in the country after Isfahan University of Technology, covering an area of about 600 hectares and housing many faculties.
The University of Tabriz has 2 campuses, 20 faculties, and 29 academic and research centers. Every year, it admits students at the associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD levels. Currently, the university hosts around 24,000 students, with 780 faculty members, 800 administrative staff (non-faculty), 200 specialized and general laboratories, a satellite image processing center, and various research centers. It is considered one of the largest academic environments in Iran. Based on research, the university ranks sixth among public universities in Iran in terms of the number of published articles, journals, and conference papers, with approximately 22,900 domestic articles and 19,600 international publications.

Welfare Facilities
The University of Tabriz provides a wide range of welfare and support services for its students. These include several student dormitories, two health centers (a student health center and a counseling center), and various sports facilities such as a multi-purpose hall with a capacity of 4,000 people, as well as table tennis, chess, gym, sauna, and jacuzzi rooms. Other facilities include dining halls, snack bars in most faculties, a student marketplace, laundry service, bakery, bank, taxi services (including a women-only taxi service), copying and printing services in the faculties, all within a very safe and attractive environment for students.

According to Clause 8 of the International Council meeting dated July 17, 2021, international students at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences may receive up to a 15% tuition discount per semester if one of their immediate family members — father, mother, sibling, spouse, or child (in the case of student parents) — is simultaneously enrolled at the university as a non-scholarship student. This discount applies to both students for as long as they are enrolled at the same time. Additionally, international students requesting academic leave or temporary enrollment (guest status) at other universities are required to pay 20% of the tuition fee for that semester.
