Today, the union has grown to include 55 members, comprising universities, science and technology parks, and research institutes. Among the notable achievements of this collaboration in the 2000s were the organization of sports Olympiads, academic seminars, and faculty and student exchange programs. Mazandaran University has also signed numerous joint research agreements with prominent universities in both Europe and Asia. In recent years, aligned with the internationalization strategies of Iran’s Ministry of Science, the university has increasingly welcomed international students—particularly from neighboring countries such as Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan, and India—further strengthening its global academic engagement.
